Cantan Group audits accessibility for a living, and this site is held to the standard we hold our clients’ work to. Our target is WCAG 2.1 Level AA across every page, state, theme and breakpoint, meeting and exceeding our obligations under the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA).
Conformance status
We believe cantangroup.com conforms to WCAG 2.1 AA. A formal Accessibility Conformance Report (VPAT® 2.5, WCAG edition) covering all fifty Level A and AA criteria is available on request through the contact form .
This assessment rests on the methods below. A manual assistive-technology audit (NVDA and VoiceOver) is scheduled within 90 days of launch, and this statement will be updated with its findings.
How this site is tested
Accessibility here is enforced by the build, not by periodic review. A release cannot be published if any check fails:
- Colour contrast is measured on every build: 42 colour pairs across both themes, including dark-on-dark compositions and large-scale display numerals, each with its own contract.
- Every page is structurally checked on every build: image alternatives, form labels, heading hierarchy, landmark labelling, accessible names on every link and button, language attributes, and more, across all pages in both languages.
- Everything works without JavaScript. Scripts add convenience; the content, the forms, and the interactive diagrams’ full text equivalents are always in the page itself.
- Motion is governed. The one moving element has a visible pause control, and every animation respects your reduced-motion preference.
- Keyboard first. Every interaction uses native, focusable elements with a visible focus indicator that is never suppressed.
Known limitations
- The manual assistive-technology audit noted above is scheduled but not yet complete.
- Some downloadable documents produced before this site launched may predate current standards. Tell us about any barrier in one and we will remediate or replace it.
